The Potential Benefits of CBG
Cannabigerol, also known as CBG, is making waves in the hemp wellness space for its therapeutic potential. CBG is the chemical precursor for the more than 100 cannabinoids produced by the cannabis plant, earning it the nickname the mother of all cannabinoids.
The term mother is endowed with a certain reverence and responsibility and it’s more than appropriate for CBG to be associated with it. According to “The Pharmacological Case for Cannabigerol,” “A number of studies have shown that CBG and a second generation synthetic quinone derivative, VCE-003.2, have neuroprotective potential in vitro and in animal models to reduce the severity of neurological illnesses such as Huntington’s disease (HD), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Parkinson’s disease (PD) and multiple sclerosis.”
Considering nearly a sixth of the world’s population suffer from neurological illnesses, CBG is poised to be a neurological game changer; however, its benefits don’t seem to be limited to the brain. CBG has also shown promise in treating metabolic syndrome, colorectal cancer and colitis, as well as acting as an appetite stimulant and antibacterial agent.
While our academic understanding of CBG’s therapeutic potential is currently limited to in vitro and animal studies, our own personal experience with CBG has shown us that this cannabinoid needs to be taken seriously and investigated further, and we look forward to research catching up with the massive amount of anecdotal evidence that CBG users continue to report.
If you’re ready to experience the potential therapeutic benefits of CBG, we have both indoor and outdoor CBG flower available, as well as CBG pre-rolls and balms. Let the mother of all cannabinoids show you some motherly love.
